Cody's Ride of Hope was held on Sunday, June 14th, 2015. It was a nice day to enjoy the Peninsula. Winner of the Individual Award for highest donations was Bill Snyder and the corporate award went to The Creekers - Millcreek police and administration. The family trophy is still up for grabs. Emily's Ride was held on Saturday, June 6, 2015, This annual memorial ride/poker run is in it's 10th year! CWOH has been the beneficiary for they past several years. The ride started at Harley Davidson of Erie and, after a few stops during the ride, ended at Scooters again. Many bands are donated their time. Mary Plonski had a buffet for all the participants. HD of Erie held a motorcycle raffle for charity in 2014. The raffle benefited CWOH and AJO Forever. The bike was a 2014 Custom Street Glide and had the logos of both charities painted on it. It had many custom parts and custom paint job. The drawing was held during BikeFest on July 20, 2014. The winner was Dee Caruana. CWOH received over $15,000.00 from the raffle!! Big Bash for Bikes 2014 was held on Saturday October 25, 2014 at Perry Highway Hose Company. Our American Auction had 100 great items!!!! The Raffle had 4 prizes and were all fantastic! DJ Ray and his laser show was there and our band was Mayflower Hill. Both got rave reviews! Our buffet was also outstanding. We had so many complements. Some of the businesses who helped with food were Nunzis, Stephany's, Gordon's Meats, The Cab, Wegmans and Giant Eagle. We had 7 great vendors and many wonderful volunteers. Joe Salorino kept everything moving along as our emcee. Many thanks to our Event Coordinator, Debra Henderson and our public relations committee. It was a fun night and we are looking forward to seeing an even bigger crowd in 2015!


Auto Racers for Kids Charities held fundraising events last summer. CWOH, along with 3 other charities, benefited from the proceeds of a few events held last summer. On July 16th at Culbertson Hills Golf Course in Edinboro, PA there was a golf outing. On Sunday, July 27th there was a dirt track racing event at Eriez Speedway! They had a 50/50, live woodcarving, Chinese Auction and a Silent Auction. Thank you for coming out and supporting CWOH. All the charities received a wonderful check. Thank you Auto Racers for Kids!!

Krista's Motorcycle Show for Make-A-Wish

On Sunday, July 13, 2014 the 15th annual Krista's Motorcycle Show for Make-A-Wish was held at Gravel Pit Park in North East, PA. Cody was a Make-A-Wish kid so we always try to help them out. This year we raffled off a $100.00 gift card to Harley Davidson of Erie, with the proceeds going to Make-A-Wish. In the past 15 years Bob Palowski has raised about $350,000.00 for Make-A-Wish!!

Emily's Ride

Emily's Ride was Saturday, June 7, 2014. This year $2040.00 was raised for Cody's Wheels Of Hope! Our thanks to Kelly & Tim Suddarth once again for their support. The ride always ends at Scooter's Lounge and, as always, Mary Plonski had a wonderful buffet for the after ride meal. Thank you to all who came out and we look forward to seeing you again!

Cody's Ride of Hope

Cody's Ride of Hope was held on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Presque Isle State Park. It was good to see new faces, as well as some from last year. The winner of the trophy for highest donations raised by an individual was William Snyder. The trophy for the family team went to Team Salorino/Fenno and the corporate team winners - once again- was the Erie Regional Cancer Center. The Cancer Center had a good rival this year - The "'Creekers" - which consisted of Millcreek police and other administrative employees. At one point they were tied, but the Cancer Center pulled ahead in donations. The 'Creekers have already said they will be ready for next year and get an early start. Competition is a good thing! Who knows, maybe next year they may face some new and worthy competitors. It was a nice day and everyone had a good time. Thanks to all who participated and we hope to see you back next year!!


In July we raffled off another bicycle at Krista's Motorcycle Show. The bike was donated for this purpose and the proceeds from the tickets went to Make-A-Wish. Cody was a Make-A-Wish kid and we like to help them out.


In November we were at the Convention Center here in Erie for the annual Christmas in the Country. We raffled off 2 bikes (a girls and a boys). We saw some old friends and made new friends... and raised a little money. We had help from a special volunteer - Debra's granddaughter, Isis.

Big Bash for Bikes 2013

In October we held Big Bash for Bikes 2013. This year we were at Perry Hi-Way Hose Company. Joe Salorino did a fantastic job once again as our emcee. Stealth Blues Bombers were a hit again and Brett Fallon (Dance Elite) came and danced. We had a great American Auction, raffles, tip boards, food and, of course, the dice walk. Everyone had a great time! Next year it will even be better! Thank you to all the sponsors, donors and participants.... and especially our volunteers. :-)

Cody's Ride of Hope was help Sunday, June 2, 2013. Groups and individuals collected donations and participated in a bicycle ride at Presque Isle State Park. We gave trophies away for 3 categories. Thank you to all who participated. Look for us in 2014!!

The 8th annual Emily's Ride was held June 1, 2013. Once again it benefited CWOH. Kelly & Tim Suddarth raised over $1900.00 for us!! We auctioned off a basket featuring a biker lawn gnome. There were a few bands that played after the run at Scooters. It was a really great time. We thank Kelly & Tim for the time and effort they put into the poker run and supporting us. Thank you to all the riders who participated!!

In November, 2012 we were at BonTons in the Millcreek Mall. We sold coupon books for the store for their upcoming sale for $5.00/each. CWOH was able to keep all the money we received from the sale.


On November 10 & 11, 2012 we were at the Bayfront Convention Center for Christmas in the Country - an annual craft show here in Erie. We raffled off a bicycle that weekend. We thank the convention center for allowing us to participate in their event.


November 10, 2012 Big Bash for Bikes was held at the Shriner's Club. It was a unique event - Erie's first indoor dice walk (based on the popular poker/dice runs). Stealth Blues Bombers and Chrome played and DJ Pat Martin provided entertainment, also. We had the dice walk, food, beer & pop, music, raffles, 50/50, American Auction and more. A huge thanks to the vendors. Also thanks go out to the sponsors and donors to the event and also the auction. We can't thank our volunteers enough. The bands were fantastic and our emcee, Joe Salorino, deserves a gigantic thank you for his ability to keep things going. Look for us in 2013!


On June 9, 2012 local film maker, Len Kabasinski, held a premier showing for his new movie , "Skull Forest". Donations were taken at the door and the bartenders donated their tips that night for Cody's Wheels Of Hope. We also raffled off a "Movie Basket". It was a great night and the movie kept you in suspense. Some of the actors starring in the movie were present. Our thanks to Len for allowing us to participate and enjoy a unique fund raising event!


Emily's Ride was again held the first week in June. The memorial poker run started at Harley Davidson of Erie and ended at Scooter's Lounge. Once again, Mary Plonski had a great buffet for the participants and music was provided by Rick & the Roadhouse Rockers. We raffled off a large framed picture of an Indian Motorcycle. Enough money was raised for Cody's Wheels Of Hope to be able to brighten the lives of 9-10 hopeful children. Once again we raffled off a bicycle at Krista's bike show. It was held on July 8th, 2012 at Gravel Pit Park in North East, PA. The winner was Dave Reed. He took home a 24" Mongoose Metric bike. We raised some money for Make-A-Wish and Kris & Darcie's daughter, Klarissa, had her hair cut and donated a ponytail to Locks of Love. Great going, Klarissa!


Emily's Ride was held June 4th, 2011. Cody's Wheels of Hope was the beneficiary of the event. The Poker Run started at Harley Davidson of Erie and made stops at several places in Erie County and finally ending at Scooter's Lounge in Erie. The ride was approximately 100 miles. There was a buffet for all the participants at Scooter's. Door prizes were given out and Patty Mazza was the winner of the 50/50 drawing. Patty has donated a large portion of her $135.00 winnings back to CWOH. Thank you, Patty! Mary, from Scooter's, did a great job on the buffet. Kelly Suddarth (with family & friends) really outdid herself this year! Our heartfelt thanks to her and everyone involved. So far we have received $1278.00!! We will be able to brighten the lives of approximately 8 - 10 hopeful children!


2010's Racin' for Wheels race was be held at Lake Shore BMX in Erie, PA on July 24, 2010. That saturday along with the race, we also had a 50/50, chinese auction, and a bike raffle. Registration for the race started at 9:30AM and the race begin at 11:30. Many riders, families, and spectators came on out and joined in the fun. Trophies and t-shirts went to each rider in the races.


On June 5, 2010 Cody’s Wheels Of Hope benefited from Emily’s Ride The Poker Run started at the Harley Shop of Erie on West Ridge Road and ended at Scooter’s Lounge on Old French Road. The owners, Mary and Don Plonsky, welcomed all the participants and had food ready when everyone ended the ride. We had a 50/50 and the winner, Joe Vitelli, donated $20.00 back to CWOH. Thank you very much Mary, Don & Joe! Our biggest thanks goes to Kelly Suddarth, who organized the ride. Her caring and thoughtfulness are amazing. This was the 5th year of the ride. This year the show was held on July 11, 2010. It was a BEAUTIFUL day! This year we raffled off a 97cc Baja Doodle Bug Mini bike. The winner of the bike was Kathy Stolz of Wattsburg, PA.


On July 25, 2010 A.B.A.T.E. of Erie County held a Dice Run for CWOH. The whole time of registration it rained…. of course! As soon as registration was over – the sun came out. That put a damper on attendance. We left the run open to all vehicles so some of the participants drove other vehicles, while a few brave souls did ride bikes. No one melted in the rain! This was the 2nd year of the Dice Run. Last year the rain was more of a torrential downpour, so this was an improvement. The winners of the run were Dale Gregg (1st place), Gayle Clark (2nd place) and Rich Filson (3rd place). Congratulations to all of them! The winner of the 50/50 was Ron Fullerton. We had a cookbook by Biker Billy autographed by him for this event. Marcie Dailey won the book. We earned enough to make 4 special children very happy! We would like to thank all of those places and individuals that donated items for the raffle and other items for the run. Among them are Pepsi, Hoss’s, Pittsburgh Inn, BFE (Bikers From Erie), Butch’s Place, Chico’s, Simply Red Beauty Salon, Aleks Powersports, and if I missed anyone please let me know and we will list you here also. Also, the establishments that allowed us to use their places for our stops were Chico’s (Fairview, PA), VFW (Edinboro, PA), Ranz (Meadville, PA), The Villa (Cambridge Springs, PA) and The Lakeside (Waterford, PA). We truly appreciate all of you!


On July 26, 2009 the “Heintz Hope Charity Motorcycle Ride for Cody’s Wheels Of Hope” held a Poker Run. As usual this year part of the ride was under rain, but that didn’t dampen the spirits of all the participants. We would like to thank Greg Heintz for organizing the run and choosing CWOH to benefit. The ride started at Greg’s house with breakfast and drawing our first card. From there we stopped at Johnny B’s in North East, PA to draw the next card. Next stop was Kelly’s Hotel just past the state line in Ripley, NY and then on to the Lakeview Hotel/Restaurant in Mayville, NY. Our final destination was The Casino Restaurant in Bemus Point, NY. There we drew our final card and the winner was chosen with the best poker hand. There were other prizes awarded which were donated by various businesses. We thank them all for their donation. Greg did a fantastic job – in a short time – and we are very grateful. Because of his efforts we will be able to brighten the lives of at least 3 hopeful children.


On August 22, 2009 the Presque Isle BMX Club at Scott Park in Millcreek donated its proceeds for the day to Cody’s Wheels Of Hope. The event was rescheduled from June 20th because of the ever-present rain we have had this year. We also had a Chinese auction with items donated by individuals, Make-A-Wish and businesses such as Wegman’s and the 12th Street Eat’n Park. The track director, Eric Persons, donated a bicycle and Denny Houston donated helmets to be used for another event. Matt Moore donated a “vintage” BMX bike for the Chinese auction. A 50/50 was also available. Our thanks to CiCi’s Pizza for donating the pizzas and water. Also, many, many thanks to Emil Kraus Company for donating 100 tee shirts for the event! Each person who registered to race received a shirt, trophy, and a CWOH license plate. All volunteers also received shirts. The event raised $907.00.


On July 12, 2009 we attended the 10th annual Krista’s Motorcycle Show for Make-A-Wish. We raffled off a 90cc Missile Dirt Bike and donated the proceeds to Make-A-Wish. The winner of the bike was Stacy Morrell. It was a perfect day! The weather was fantastic and the turnout was great.


Kelly Suddarth once again sent us a donation ($100.00!) from Emily's Ride - a yearly Poker Run for charity. Thank you Kelly, for your continued care and support.


On June 7, 2009 A.B.A.T.E. of Erie County held a Dice Run to benefit Cody’s Wheels Of Hope. It started out a VERY rainy day, but many motorcyclists showed up for the run and braved the elements. Robyn Swab, President of Erie Co. A.B.A.T.E., presented us with $447.00! The ride started at The Last Shot in Millcreek then proceeded to Home Tavern (West Springfield), Ram’s Head Inn (Albion), The Villa (Cambridge Springs) and ended at the Lakeside Tavern (Waterford). Larry Thompson, owner of the Lakeside – and fellow A.B.A.T.E. member – had a band playing along with food available. Thanks to Larry!! “A.B.A.T.E. of PA is a statewide alliance of Bikers dedicated to, but not limited to, the protection of the individual rights of motor cyclists through political change, charitable works and public education”. Our local Sam's Club here in Erie has given CWOH a generous donation of $1000.00. Special thanks to Holly B. for the consideration.


Presque Isle BMX in Erie, PA hosted the first annual Racin' for Wheels BMX race. Over 50 riders were registered for the event. A 50/50 raffle and pizza sale, along with the race proceeds, pushed the total funds raised to just over $500. All riders received a CWOH t-shirt in lieu of trophies. Special Thanks to Eric P. On July 13, 2008 we attended the motorcycle show for Make-A-Wish(r) at Gravel Pit Park in North East, PA. This year we raffled off a Razor Pocket Rocket Mini Bike. Funds for the mini bike were made available from Conway & O'Malley Tires of Erie. Our sincere thanks go out to them! We were able to raise $365.00 this year! The mini bike was a big hit. Unfortunately, the day started out with dark clouds and rain, but eventually turned into a very nice day. Attendance was down this year, but everyone there had a great time. The winner of the mini bike was Kyle Wasiulewski, who just happened to be celebrating his birthday the very next day! Congratulations, Kyle! Next year we plan to have something REALLY nice to raffle off, so be sure to check back about that in a few months. Our 3rd annual haircut fundraiser was held on June 8, 2008 in conjunction with Sparrow Pond Campground’s 2008 grand opening in Waterford, PA. Meggan Mobilia, of Simply Red Beauty Salon in Erie, sponsored the event once again. Also, we had the help of another stylist – Gail Woodruff. There weren’t many children present so we cut hair for some adults, also. Trudy Henderson made ALOT of cookies that were a big hit at the campground! We raffled off 2 prizes this year – a 2-night stay in a cabin at Sparrow Pond and a $25.00 gift certificate to Simply Red. Sparrow Pond also donated part of the Chinese Auction proceeds to CWOH. In all, we raised enough to pay for the 2 tricycles and 2 helmets we gave away the following week! Our heartiest thanks go out to Meggan, Gail, Trudy, Sparrow Pond and all those who received haircuts!! We are truly grateful for your efforts.


On January 18, 2008 the Peach Street Wal-Mart, here in Erie, PA, once again donated to Cody's Wheels Of Hope. We received a check for $375.00! We greatly appreciate the donation and are very happy that they are repeat donors. Thank you to Tammy and manager Charles for the gift!!!


On September 12, 2007 we received a check from the Erie GEFCU in the amount of $651.13!!! The employees of the credit union raised this. For about a month, a basket of lottery tickets made the rounds to the different branch offices so that members could buy chances to win it. We would like to thank all the employees and members of the Credit Union for their support and interest. Special thanks go to Christine, Julie and Susan of the East Lake Road branch office. We are very grateful for all your efforts!


On July 8, 2007 Cody's Wheels Of Hope raffled off two Schwinn Orange County Chopper bicycles for Make-A-Wish. This was our 3rd year participating with Krista's Motorcycle Show for Make-A-Wish. It is the 8th year of the bike show.The show raised $36,000 again!! Another job well done by Bob Palowski and the local A.B.A.T.E. organization.Winners of the bicycles were Chris Howe and Terry Yurchak. The 2nd annual Kid's Cuts for Wheels was held on May 19, 2007 at Simply Red Beauty Salon, here in Erie, PA. Meghan Mobilia, owner of Simply Red, sponsored the event again. We sold hot dogs and kids were treated to goody bags after their haircut. Trudy Henderson made some really great cookies for everyone. The winner of the 50/50 was Molli Anders of Erie. Arlene Salorino of Erie won a 2 night stay at Sparrow Pond and Tammy Pottorf, also of Erie, won the spray tan from Fab Tan. Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all who bought tickets. A very special thank you goes to Meghan and the stylists helping out. Also, we really appreciate the donated gifts from Sparrow Pond and Fab Tan.


CWOH was choosen to receive the annual charitable donation of the HRMA Erie chapter. 50/50's are drawn at each of their meetings with half going to charity. This year, we are proud to say that CWOH received a check for $500.00. We would like to thank you to Paula. She was this year's board member over charitable donations. Check out their site at


Though most of the donation funds they had were already pleged to other worthy causes, the Madison, OH Wal-Mart #3608 donated 2 gift cards to CWOH. Thank you to Gaye and Manager Brian for their consideration.


Recycling for Charities will take your old cell phones, iPODs, digital cameras,and PDAs, and Cody's Wheels Of Hope will receive a donation. Your donation is tax deductible, too! On July 9, 2006 Cody's Wheels Of Hope raised $146.00 for Make-A-Wish. We had a table at the 7th Annual Krista's Motorcycle Show for Make-A-Wish and raffled off two West Coast Chopper bicycles. We have received a letter from Jan Stork, the regional director of Make-A-Wish in this area, notifying us that over $30,000.00 was raised this year!! The winners of the bicycles were Joe Zukowski and Tim McQuaid, both of Erie. Congratulations to them! Also, thanks to all who bought tickets and helped a great cause! See you again next year!


Erie local Vincent Baldi donated 100 CWOH buttons. The buttons were designed by Kris, and Vinny generously put them together. The buttons will be available for a $1.00 or more donation. You can visit Vincent's website at


If you have payroll deductions through United Way, and are able to designate where your contributions go, Cody's Wheels Of Hope is now on their list. Just contact your payroll department and you let them know that you wish to have your contributions sent to us. (You will probably need our address.) We will then receive a quarterly check from United Way. You can be assured that your charitable deduction is going to a very worthy cause, AND it is tax deductible!


On April 21, 2006 we received a $1000.00 grant from one of our local Wal-Mart stores, #2278 here in Erie, PA. We would like to thank Tammy and Manager Charles for their consideration.


Our thanks to the County of Greenville, SC Probate Court for their thoughtfulness in donating $250.00. This money was given in lieu of their traditional charitiable contribution and gift exchange for the holidays. This year they also included funds collected that were meant for the Judge's gift. Special thanks to Sheryll Smith for coordinating their effort and sending us a thoughtful letter along with the donation.


In December 2005 we received a $250.00 grant check from one of our local Wal-Mart stores, #2561 here, in Erie, PA. We would like to thank Manager Pete Burns and Opie (Community Involvement) for their consideration.


On October 24th 2005, CWOH had a fundraiser at our local Hoss's here in Erie. Many friends, family, and supporters were there, and made this wonderful event a success. Hoss's has a "Community Night" each Monday, where they allow a local non-profit group to raise funds by giving special tickets out. These tickets, once turned in by patrons, give a percent of the bill to the group that it sponsors.


On Sunday, July 10, 2005 we had a table at the 6th annual bike show to benefit Make-A-Wish. Our thanks to Bob Palowski, who started the show 6 years ago, and his volunteers for allowing us to participate this year. We raffled off a 20” Schwinn Orange County Chopper bicycle. All proceeds went to the local Make-A-Wish office. Don Baroth of Millcreek was the lucky winner of the bike. We hope to be back next year – bigger and better!!


On Saturday, July 9, 2005 we attended the 8th annual pig roast at The Engine Company at East 23rd and Ash Streets in Erie, PA. We would like to thank Keith Shelly, owner of the Engine Company, and his employees (especially Curly) for allowing us to set up a table to give out information about CWOH and to take donations. The day started with a poker run to benefit the Lions Eye Bank of NW PA. There was also a Chinese Auction, a table for the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, and other various interests. There were many motorcycles lined up on both sides of the street all day. There was food, drinks, and music by Oz-mosis. It was a great day for all that attended.


A friend of Cody's Wheels, Courtney Pershka, held a 50/50 drawing at her local church and raised over $50 that went directly to CWOH. Thank you to Courtney and all that entered the contest.


We would like to thank Jerry Marks for inviting us to the Erie Hemophilia Foundation Awareness Dinner on Thursday, February 24, 2005 at Porters. Jerry is Executive Director of the Foundation. We handed out information about CWOH and had an opportunity to tell people about us and what we do. We learned that there will be a Bleeding Disorders Treatment Center in Erie so that kids won't need to travel to Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo.


On January 15, 2005 we had a fundraiser at Simply Red Beauty Salon at West 26th & Hudson from 1:00- 4:00 PM. Children age 12 and under were able to have their hair cut for a $5.00 donation each and the proceeds went to CWOH. Goodie Bags were given to each child receiving a haircut. Cookies and drinks were also available. The drawing for a 50/50 was held at 4:00 that day.
